If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.
Lewis Carroll
Direction is very important (for most things)
Unless you know your direction. Any random movement long enough will get you somewhere. Where are you going? Until you can answer that question, you can’t say that any one route is better than another.
What direction are you interested in taking your life? Pick an aspect of your life and apply the saying. Apply this to all the decisions that matter. Whether its picking a career or picking a vacation, if it matters, you need to know where you are going first.
If you don’t know what you want to be when you grow up, any road will get you there.
If you don’t know what you want in a life partner, any road will get you there.
If you don’t know what you want in a friend, any road will get you there.
If you don’t know what you want in business, any road will get you there.
If you don’t know what you want for dinner, any road will get you there.
Now its practically impossible for you to know everything beforehand. And life becomes too mechanical if you planning everything to chance. Live life as it comes but do not leave the important things (the ones that matter) to chance. Take the time to think, ask some questions, do research if you do not know enough, think, decide and then act on it.
What are the areas of life that lack direction for you? Grab some paper, make a list. Get to work.
Most of life’s difficulties come down to preparation
